A few weeks ago I was invited to present my work at a panel titled “Queer Migrations” as part of the Global Politics Conference organized by the Union of Political Science Students (UPSS) of the New School for Social Research at The New School.
Von Diaz, a Feet in Two Worlds LGBT reporting fellow, was part of the panel. She presented herĀ journalistic work on the challenges gay immigrants face under the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which since 1996 bars federal recognition of same-sex marriages. She recently wrote about our presentation here.
