1. It is so very interesting to see the art world mobilize against the detention of Chinese artist Ai Weiwei! Two weeks ago there was a world action titled “1,001 Chairs for Ai Weiwei.” It is particularly ironic to have this conversation in the U.S.A. We live in a nation that produces state violence by disappearing people from our communities through aggressive networks of punishment, criminalization, and detention.
